Chris Rock called out the Oscars for their consistent lack of diversity with a simple, perfect tweet!

According to PEOPLE, Chris, who will be hosting this year’s Academy Awards, shared a new 15-second promo on Twitter, calling the award show "the White BET Awards," just one day after the Oscar nominees were announced.

Yet again, actors of color were shut out of the major categories, with only one person of color receiving a prestigious nomination (director Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu for The Revenant). The hashtag #OscarsSoWhite again went viral on social media, with some like Jada Pinkett Smith suggesting boycotting the show.

Even Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs expressed clear disappointment to Deadline about African American films like Straight Outta Compton, Concussion and Beasts Of No Nation not being shown proper recognition. “Of course I am disappointed, but this is not to take away the greatness (of the films nominated). This has been a great year in film, it really has across the board. You are never going to know what is going to appear on the sheet of paper until you see it,” she said. However, she also acknowledging the Academy’s efforts for diversity are moving too slowly. “We have got to speed it up.”

The 88th Academy Awards air on February 28 on ABC.

What do you think of Chris' statement and the constant lack of diversity at the Oscars?
