Cronuts, cupcakes, there are so many pastry trends it's hard to keep track of what's in and whats OUT. All we know is the hottest sugar packed trend is available at Manila Social Club, a Filipino restaurant in the always trendy and often ridiculous Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The eatery is selling a $100 donut that boasts a 24-karat goat coating and Cristal champagne icing.
While we aren't encouraging you to go blow your paycheck on a few heavenly bites of this masterpiece, we certainly enjoyed it. The ube cream (a purple yam that is present in a lot of Filipino dishes) reminded me of a lavender cream, and it was so decadent it took me almost an hour to fully enjoy. This light and fluffy treat was as fun to eat as it was to Vine and Instagram. I mean... if you eat a $100 donut and don't take a photo, did you even do it? The purple hat-like box was a nice touch.
