In the midst of the continued Flint water crisis, one little boy has worked hard to help hundreds of school kids in the city!

According to The Huffington Post, 7-year-old Isiah Britt from Gainesville, VA, raised over $10,000 to buy hand sanitizer for elementary schools in Flint!

When his mom, Danielle Britt, and her fiancé, Kensley Dougan, told him what was going on in the city, Isiah automatically wanted to help. At first, the family wanted to send over bottled water to Eisenhower Elementary in Flint, but the school had a more pressing concern. The school’s secretary, Lisa Palermo, explained to Isiah that students were afraid to wash their hands because of the lead in the water. “Eisenhower Elementary asked us, ‘Is it OK if you guys can get us hand sanitizer?’ And we said, ‘Sure!’” Isiah told ABC 12.

After doing the math about how much hand sanitizer was actually needed for the entire school, Isiah and his family made a goal of raising $500. His parents helped him set up a GoFundMe page on Feb. 5 to raise the funds on Feb. 5. In just two days, Isiah reached that goal and mailed out his first shipment of sanitizer out to the school.

Isiah soon decided to work to do even more in the area. “Now I am going to try to send some boxes to another school too!” he wrote on his GoFundMe page. “There are a lot of kids who need clean hands!” He made an even bigger goal of $10,000, which would be enough to send hand sanitizer to every school in Flint. As of Feb. 27, Isiah and his family have raised a little over $13,000!

Now, the family has set their sights on helping more places in Flint. "So right now we have enough for all 12 schools out in Flint. Once that's fulfilled, the next step is daycares or women's shelters,” Kensley said in an interview with ABC. Isiah is proud of reaching his goals and assisting an area that really needs the help. “It doesn't matter if you're small, it doesn't mean you can't do big things,” he said.

It's awesome that this little guy is making such a big difference!
