Congratulations to Run-DMC for making music history!

The legendary rap trio will be recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award, making them the first Hip-Hop group ever to receive such an honor.

They will be honored alongside Earth Wind and Fire, Herbie Hancock, Linda Ronstadt, Jefferson Airplane, Celia Cruz, and Ruth Brown

Known for hits such as "Walk This Way," "My Adidas," and "It's Tricky," this honor comes 30 years after their emergence on the music scene in Queens, New York. They have since influenced artists such as LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, and NWA.

Rev Run took to Twitter to express his excitement:

We can also be certain that Jam Master Jay, who passed away in 2002, would be proud as well. "Believing in something and being a part of something you believe in and watching it work and coming from it," a quote he truly lived by. It is not doubt that he will be smiling down on his fellow group members as they step on stage to accept their award.

Help congratulate the legendary group on their achievement by sharing this post!
