Spells like it sounds -- Cheapoair’s mission statement is to get you in a plane and up in the air at the lowest price possible. For people on a budget, some are perfectly content to grab onto the wing of a plane and keep holding as long as it means they’ll get from Point A to Point B for the lowest price across any airline, at any time. This may mean long layover times or several connections, but if price is your biggest concern, Cheapoair is the way to go.
For those of us driving instead of flying, iExit is a hugely helpful app during road trips as it lets you know what services are available at each exit. Beyond that, it also lets you know how far each exit is so you can get a good idea of when’s a good time to stop for food, gas or other services. This app is a total lifesaver on long road trips and especially through areas with low density populations!
Another flight app, TripCase takes your itinerary and displays it for you in a manageable way, so instead of pulling out your emailed itinerary every time you need to know what gate to board, what your flight number is and what time to board, TripCase keeps you posted for all that information. The way it works is you simply forward your itinerary email to TripCase’s automated email and voila -- your itinerary is displayed in-app!
This app is great for saving a couple extra bucks, and who doesn’t want that on a vacation? GasBuddy shows you the cheapest gas prices in your current location with a certain radius (specified by you). In addition to that, if you sign up for an account, you can actually get points just for reporting gas prices and you can redeem those points for coupons!
A fun way to let your friends and family know where you are and what you’re seeing, Postagram is an easy way to send postcards to anyone around the world from anywhere around the world! It makes sending a postcard so much easier and brings the concept of postcards back into the 21st century -- you just select the postcard you want to send, personalize it and request to send it to whoever you’d like, and Postagram puts that card in the mail for you!
Free WiFi Finder
This app is super helpful if you’re out and about internationally and you don’t have international service. This can especially be helpful if you don’t want to get involved in the huge expenses international roaming can cost you! With Free WiFi Finder, you can locate the nearest free WiFi so you can get back in contact with the rest of the world without racking up hundreds of dollars on your cellular bill!
This is the all-time most helpful app for when you’re flying as it contains maps of every major airport. Not only can it tell you where your gate is so you can quickly get into a connecting flight, but it also shows you all the services and amenities in a given airport, so if you’re stuck at the airport with long layovers and you want to know where the restrooms, restaurants or stores are, GateGuru has your back!
